In our day-to-day conversations, have we bad-mouthed or cut down the work of other churches or denominations?
Reaching out through such persons of peace ensures exponential growth in your labours. As Jesus sends us out into our harvest fields – our social circles consisting of our family, neighbours, schools and workplaces – be encouraged that He has also placed persons of peace in our lives.
Are you discouraged by the hostile rejections or the lack of results from friends and family whenever you tried to share Christ with them? Contrary to what Jesus had proclaimed, the harvest sure doesn’t look plentiful to you.
Though there is a large harvest waiting to be reaped, Jesus did not immediately send his disciples out to minister to the people. Jesus taught his disciples to first “ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into the harvest field.”
Fasting is adjusting the focus off our material security and trusting in Him for our protection and provision. It is living out, “He must become greater; I must become less” (John 3:30)
Remember that fasting does not move God; fasting moves us! It forces us to a position where we are aligned to receive empowerment from heaven. Are you ready to be realigned and empowered?
Never fast with the thought of obligating God. Just because we fast, we cannot obligate Him and turn Him into our servant. Fasting is not a means of obtaining direct blessings.
Fasting results in physical weakness, which give rise to spiritual strength. Decide to overcome your temptations by fasting and praying.
One of the key biblical reasons for fasting is to express repentance and sorrow for sin.
It is possible to take a perfect thing and abuse it; to degenerate fasting to a mere external form of worship without an internal sincere heart meaning.
