Week 2: Sowing over Zion’s 2021 Theme: REAP
Key Verse: Luke 10:5-6“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ 6 If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.
Jesus sent out the disciples into the harvest field and taught them the work of the ministry. They were sent out to proclaim the arrival of God’s kingdom and heal the sick. Aiding them in their ministry are persons of peace – locals in the town who receive God’s message of peace. In yesterday’s reading, we read about the Samaritan woman at the well. She responded to Jesus’ message of peace and influenced many in her town to believe in Jesus. The Samaritan woman is a person of peace.
From Luke 10, we observed that a person of peace welcomes you, is receptive to spiritual truths and will share those spiritual truths with others in their community. Reaching out through such persons of peace ensures exponential growth in your labours. As Jesus sends us out into our harvest fields – our social circles consisting of our family, neighbours, schools and workplaces – be encouraged that He has also placed persons of peace in our lives. Lean on God to recognise such persons of peace around you and through them reach out to the community God has placed you in. The harvest is plentiful!
- Ask God to prepare you to work in your harvest fields. How would ministry amongst your social circles look like to God?
- Ask God to help you recognise persons of peace in your life and the influence they have in their social circles. Note down their names and continue to pray for their salvation and the salvation of their social circles for the rest of this week.
